Mith's Minions

Mith's Minions is a group set up by Mithreas. This group is made up of people who have good scripting skills with Neverwinter Nights and want to help out occasionally. Here is a description of exactly what this group is and isn't, and what they can and can't do.

• They have access to all of Arelith's scripts, so are in an excellent position to track down most of the bugs that may crop up.
• They can make fixes and submit them to Mithreas and the rest of Mith's Minions, before being implemented.
• They are in a position to answer questions about Arelith scripts. Therefore, sending a script-related PM to the "Mith's Minions" usergroup will probably get an answer a lot quicker than sending it to Mithreas.
• They tend to have a good idea of what will never be added, and (to a lesser extent) what is quite likely to appear. Though you should take their contributions to suggestions with a grain of salt, because...
• They are not official developers. Arelith's development team currently consists of Jjjerm, Mithreas and Artos. These three are the only ones who can make any sort of decision. Therefore, a "dev opinion" cannot be given by a Minion. An opinion on the feasibility of a suggestion, however, is likely to be quite accurate.
• They do not have direct access to the server, and have no way of resetting, booting up or monitoring or controlling the server in any way.
• They cannot submit fixes directly: everything has to go through Mithreas. The only exception is in the case that Mithreas isn't available, Jjjerm or Fire Boar is, and something's seriously broken and requires immediate attention.
• They are not "more important" than any other player. They are simply people who have some scripting talent to contribute to Arelith, and their work only really consists of fixing things that Mithreas hasn't got time to do, and very occasionally doing a small part on something big.
• They are not forum moderators. (Except Fire Boar, who is also member of Forum Team.)

How to join?

If you would like to apply for this gruelling task and gain absolutely no benefit out of it whatsoever, then you should contact Mithreas. Please note that only people with good prior experience with NWScript need apply.

"What you need to do depends on the position you're shooting for. But Arelith is rather a good server, so you have to be able to produce something of a good enough standard.

If you're aiming for a scripter position, show me (since Mith's away) an example of some past work you've done and you'll be considered for a spot in Mith's Minions.

If you're aiming for an area writer position, I suggest one of two things you could do to show off your skill:

• Remake your favourite Arelith location with a "zombie apocalypse" theme.
• Create a brand new area that would fit in with the Arelith setting, either surface or underdark."
